Maoists 'in discussion' to open admission in PLA
A senior commander of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) of CPN (Maoist) has said that the Maoists will also start taking in new recruits if Nepal Army (NA) does not stop new recruitments.

PLA Deputy Commander Chandra Prasad Khanal a.k.a. Baldev Monday said that they were surprised by the abrupt decision of NA to open new admission by breaching the peace agreement and warned that the Maoists will also have to initiate the admission process if NA goes ahead with its decision.

He informed that discussion is going on to open admission in the PLA. Khanal, who was speaking at the press meet organised by pro-Maoist Revolutionary Journalists Association in Butwal, claimed that the Prime Minister and the United Nation Mission in Nepal (UNMIN) has already been notified about the issue. He said he has also asked for PM Dahal's permission regarding opening admission in the PLA.

The PLA deputy commander said that NA's decision to open new admission to fill up its vacant posts at a time when discussion have been going on about army integration has raised doubts whether NA is completely under the control of Maoist defense minister.

Emphasising that there is no other alternative to army integration, Khanal said there is danger that the country might slip back to violence and conflict if it doesn't happen.

He also flayed Nepali Congress (NC) president Girija Prasad Koirala for making inflammatory statements against the army integration. nepalnews.com ag Dec 22 08

नेपालन्युजको माथिको लेख पढ्दा माओवादीले त्यति लामो समयसम्म के का लागि युद्ध गरे र हाल पनि विभिन्न अनैतिक कृयाकलापका साथसाथै तोडफोड र लुटपिट गरेका कारणहरुबारेमा बुझ्न नै गाह्रो परेको छ। हाल माओवादीकै नेतृत्वमा सरकार बनेको छ र नेपाल आर्मि लगायत जनसेना र वाइ. सि. यल पनि उसैको हातमा छ। आफु सरकारमा बसेर नेपाली सेनालाई ठिक गर्नु त परै जाओस् त्यसको विपरित जनमुक्ति सेनाका तयार गर्ने धम्की पो दिदैँ छ। यदि जनमुक्ति सेना थपेर उनिहरुलाई नेपाली सेना जसरी तलव भत्ता दिने हो भने हामी जनताको राजस्व विकाशका काममा लगाउन सकिन्छ र? अर्थमन्त्री वावुराम भट्टराईको बजेट भाषणमा द्वन्द्वपिडितलाई भत्ता दिने भन्दै जनता सामु सच्चा राजनितिज्ञको परिभाषा दिन खोजेका थिए तर द्वन्द्वपिडित कसका कारणले भए र माओवादी पार्टिको नेतृत्वमा बनेको सरकारले दिने राहत कहाँबाट आयो भन्ने कुरा हामी नेपाली सबैले बुझ्नु आवश्यक छ भन्ने जस्तो लाग्छ।

साँच्चै नया नेपाल बनाउने हो भने जनताको पैसा जनताकै काममा लगानि गर्ने हो भने पुग्छ तर द्वन्द्वपिडितका नाममा माओवादी लडाकुलाई भत्ता दिने र जनमुक्ति सेनामा विस्तार गरी तलब भत्ता खुवाएर चाहीँ नयाँ नेपाल बन्न सक्दैन जस्तो लाग्छ। नयाँ नेपाल बनाउने हो भने व्यक्ति वा संस्था जस्तै हिमाल संचार अफिस लगायत मेडियाहरुलाई स्वतन्त्रता दिनु पर्‍यो र प्रत्येक नेपालीलाई सुरक्षाका साथ बाँच्न पाउने मानव अधिकारको संरक्षण गर्नुपर्छ जस्तो लाग्छ।
